Here’s a Mafia Wars Obsession “brief” guide to your Mafia Wars homepage:
The Mafia Wars game is played on an a clickable interface window within your social networking page. The window looks rather complicated and difficult to follow in the beginning. Everyone feels that way about Maia Wars at the start, so don’t panic. You’ll find your way around the game window in no time.
This is the top part of your Mafia Wars home page (above) showing the information associated with your Mafia Wars character including health, energy and stamina levels, current skill level and experience points together with a progress bar indicating how far until you level up. It also,and this is important, tells you how much money you have in your “pockets” (top left hand side) – the important part is that if you carry your Mafia Wars wealth around with you, it is there for the taking, should anyone attack you. So take note of the unassuming little link to your Bank next to your cash. Click on this and deposit your Mafia Wars cash (or use it to buy useful Mafia Wars equipment like weapons, vehicles and armor).
Note that the bank will take their cut everytime you deposit cash (withdrawls are free) so if you need to buy something use any cash you happen to have on you at the time from jobs or attacking other weaker mafioso before depositing the remainder in the bank. Now, I say this but I still get stung from time to time – sometimes to the tune of millions of dollars/pesos/baht/rubles. Of course if that happens you need to take your revenge in whatever way you see fit – putting a contract on someone is fun and needn’t cost the earth.
Next we have the middle section of your homepage (above), which contains details of any current seasonal jobs/events (in this case, the Mafia Wars St Patricks Day Collection and Jobs). At the top of this section you will see links to the important sections of the game:
- Home – come back to the homepage by clicking here
- Jobs – access the job tiers for your Mafia Wars level – note each Mafia Wars location has a different set of job tiers and jobs to be done. So you can equip yourself with the necessary hardware to complete jobs to earn cash and experience points. The more jobs you master in Mafia Wars, the more income you generate and the more opportunities that will come your way. Not to mention all the loot you will acquire.
- Fight – start to have some fun by beating up on the competition. If you’re particularly brutal you can wind up icing your opponets (who are real people and will undoubtedly want their revenge. Well, wouldn’t you?)
- Properties/Businesses – in New York, you can check out your properties or businesses by clicking on this link. In Mafia Wars Cuba, Moscow, Bangkok (Las Vegas is coming soon), you can check out your businesses, collect your earnings, upgrade or even take over new businesses here.
- Inventory – check out your loot, weapons, vehicles, armor and collections here.
- Marketplace – trade in thos lovely Godfather points for a ton of cool stuff, including special weapongs, boosts, health etc etc. If you really want to excel fast in this game, you can buy (with real money) additional Godfather points as collecting Godfather points can be painfully slow at times.
- Profile – the more jobs you do, the more skill points you collect. You can apply these points to your character attributes here. If you want to spend more time fighting people, you can out more points into attack, defence and stamina. If doing lucrative Mafia Wars jobs is your bag, then build up your energy with skill points.
- My Mafia – here’s where you need to build up your mafia family (again these are real people you can join up with on your social network site). The bigger your mafia the stronger you become. Not only that, the more likely you will know someone to come up with the goods when you request those hard to find items.
OK, so this section shows information about your Mafia members on the right (you can view your Mafia and sort the list into order of Mafia Wars rank, alphabetically, date added, those you have in your top jobs, those needing help and finally those who need energy) – you can scroll down the list using the arrows at the bottom of the visible list. The Player Updates window on the left is your information to what is happening in your Mafia Wars turf in real time. You will see updates from friends who have achieved particular rewards, those needing help with jobs , those needing help with someone who is attacking them, those who have declared war and those who are attacking/have attacked you. And more importantly, how much they stole from you. You can order a hit on those particular enemies by clicking on their name or the links provided in the update itself.
